The shortcuts don’t work (Fast Window Switch)
Allow Fast Window Switch in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility. The Settings window shows the current state and opens the right place for you.
The shortcuts stop working in some apps
When an app turns on Secure Input – usually a browser with a focused password field, or Terminal – macOS doesn’t pass keystrokes to other apps. The menu bar icon warns you. Click outside the password field, or restart that app.
The window panel shows only app icons
Window previews need the Screen Recording permission (System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording). It is optional.
I hid the menu bar icon – how do I get back to the settings?
Open the app again from the Applications folder or Spotlight; the Settings window appears.
Why is the default Control-Option on my keyboard?
On many keyboards – Czech, German, Nordic, Spanish, British and others – Option with a number key types characters such as @, #, [ ] or { }. To keep them working, the default there is ⌃⌥ + number. Elsewhere it is ⌥. You can pick any modifier keys in Settings.
Which app is ⌥1?
The first app in your Dock after Finder – Finder is always first and isn’t counted. ⌥2 is the second, and so on up to ⌥0 for the tenth. The menu bar icon lists the current assignment. Rearrange your Dock and the shortcuts follow.
Privacy Policy
Fast Window Switch and Fast App Switch do not collect, store or transmit any personal data. They contain no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and they don’t connect to the internet.
- Settings are stored locally on your Mac in the app’s preferences.
- Accessibility (Fast Window Switch only) is used to receive the keyboard shortcuts and to list, order and switch the windows of your apps. The order of recently used windows is kept in memory only.
- Screen Recording (Fast Window Switch only, optional) is used solely to draw window previews in the panel. The images stay in memory and are discarded when the panel closes.
- Dock order is read from the macOS Dock preferences, read-only, to know which app belongs to which number.
Purchases of Fast Window Switch are processed by our reseller, who handles payment details under its own privacy policy. Purchases in the Mac App Store are handled by Apple.

Terms of Use
Fast Window Switch and Fast App Switch are developed by Karel Nagy, Czech Republic (“we”). Contact: knagyorg@gmail.com.
- Purchase. Fast Window Switch is sold through Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy processes the payment, charges the applicable VAT or sales tax and issues the invoice; its buyer terms apply to the purchase itself. Fast App Switch is sold through the Mac App Store under Apple’s terms, including Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
- License. A purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable license to install and use the app on the Macs you own or control. You may not resell, redistribute or publish the app or your download link.
- Requirements. macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Mac with Apple silicon or Intel. Fast Window Switch needs the Accessibility permission to work; Screen Recording is optional.
- Updates. Updates within the same major version (for example 2.x) are free for existing customers.
- Warranty and liability. We build the apps with care, but provide them “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by Czech law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
Refund Policy
- Fast Window Switch: if the app doesn’t work for you, ask for a full refund within 14 days of purchase – no questions asked. Write to knagyorg@gmail.com with your order number, or use the link in your Lemon Squeezy receipt. The refund goes back to your original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days. We offer this refund even though the statutory right of withdrawal for digital content ends once the download starts.
- Fast App Switch (Mac App Store): refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
